The Druze & Their Faith in Tawhid” by Anis Obeid is a deep analysis into Druze scripture and beliefs, illuminating the traditions that have long defined a relatively small sect of worshippers. Obeid argues particularly that the Tawhid offers a progressive and dynamic spiritual process based on freedom of choice.

The New Belly Dancer of the Galaxy: A Novel” by Frances Khirallah Noble is a novel blending magical realism with post-9/11 Arab American life. The book follows middle-aged Syrian American optician Kahlil Gibran Hourani whose life is turned upside down when the ghost of his wizened grandmother begins appearing in visions.

“TV on Strike: Why Hollywood Went to War over the Internet” by Cynthia Littleton is a deep examination of the 2007-2008 Hollywood writer’s strike, placing the focus on how changes in the medium, digital distribution and the influence of the internet led to one of the defining labor disputes of the 21st Century. The reverberations from the first writer’s strike would have lasting implications, felt again during the 2023 writers and actors strikes.
