2021 Veterans Writing Award

Submissions for the 2021 Veterans Writing Award will open on November 15, 2020. The judge is Phil Klay, National Book Award-winning author of the short story collection Redeployment and the novel Missionaries. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, his nonfiction has been published in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New Yorker, the Atlantic, and elsewhere. “25 years of the Television and Popular Culture series” with editor Robert Thompson

Thompson reflects back on the series’ 25-year history and bright future ahead. The series includes books about individual shows, specific genres, creators and producers, and the history of the medium and have won honors such as the Popular Culture Association Board of Governors Award and the Theatre Historical Society of America’s Outstanding Book of the Year Award.
