"A book about lives; sometimes the author’s own, sometimes historical figures are rendered in thrilling detail. . . . Whether readdressing historical lives or writing from autobiographical perspectives, this is a book in love with watching, conveyed in exuberant, lyrical verse. . . . Boyle’s world comes alive and uses the possibilities of sound and form to sing in tune with the natural cycles of life and death."—John Challis, Poetry Salzburg Review
