They offer an in-depth examination of national legislation on personal status, penal law, labor law, nationality, and social security law. Saud Joseph, professor of anthropology at the University of California, Davis, is presently a visiting professor at the American University in Cairo. She is the editor of Intimate Selving in Arab Families, Gender, Self and Identity and the editor of Arab Family Studies.
