Perspectives on Assyrian Studies

Perspectives on Assyrian Studies (PAS) is an interdisciplinary book series offering a nuanced lens on the enduring influences of Assyro-Mesopotamia. Through Indigenous, cultural, and ethnic studies methods, this series aims to move studies on Assyrian history, culture, politics, and heritage beyond a regional or religious focus into a wider and more interconnected world. Perspectives on Assyrian Studies also acts as a means for Assyrian-centered cultural production, re-inserting historically suppressed and erased voices into the present.

The series is in partnership and supported by the Assyrian Studies Association, a 501 c3 academic/educational organization. We invite manuscripts that fall within these broadly defined topics across disciplines: critical historiography; migration and diaspora; imperial and colonial legacies in the region; gender and identity; nationalism and state formation; biographies and other political writings of prominent figures; oral traditions and storytelling; modern political and social discourse; and methodological questions and approaches.
