Earl Lloyd is honored by the city of Syracuse

The city of Syracuse honored Earl Lloyd’s career and achievements on Wednesday, June 23 by unveiling a street renamed Earl Lloyd Way. Lloyd, the first Black player in the NBA, played for the Syracuse Nationals from 1952 to 1958. Lloyd will also be part of the downtown mural honoring inspirational basketball players that are a source of pride for the community.
