Theodore Deppe worked as a registered nurse for many years before becoming a full-time writer and teacher. His poetry collections include the chapbook Necessary Journeys and the full-length collections Children of the Air, The Wanderer King, Cape Clear: New & Selected Poems, and Orpheus on the Red Line. Deppe has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. A past writer-in-residence at the James Merrill House in Stonington, Connecticut, and at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, Deppe teaches in the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast MFA program.
